Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture with a rich,
over 3000 year tradition, approaches health and healing with truly
wholistic principles and practices honoring each person's health
concerns as unique and individual.
One Harvard University study estimated that Americans
visit acupuncturists more than five million times a year. The National
Institutes of Health reports ever-increasing use of acupuncture
by thousands of doctors, dentists and other practitioners to treat
or prevent many illnesses.
Acupuncture, is based on the theory of vital
life energy called qi/chi flowing through your body along "energy
pathways" called meridians/channels. An imbalance or blockage
of the flow of qi from emotional or physical stress may result in
illness.
The meridians have acu-points of energy which
when treated can direct the body's ability to create balance within
the systems to restore health.
Susan's acupuncture
treatments are tailored to the unique needs of each patient-from
the very young to the elderly-and will address both the symptoms
and the underlying factors of each person's health. Her acupuncture
is unique, based on the Classical and Traditional Chinese, Japanese
and 5 Element methods of treatment.
Her sessions--in a soothing environment--include
a thorough health evaluation of the patient, assessments of the
pulses, tongue, eyes, skin and the meridians. Individually tailored
home exercises or special breathing techniques may be recommended
if indicated. Her acupuncture is administered with thin, sterile,
disposable needles.
Such treatment methods as cupping or moxa may be added if indicated
to aid in a treatment.
Moxa is the use of a heated herb placed near
certain acupuncture points. It is intended to strengthen ones circulation,
warm the body, meridians or the muscles and unblock areas of stiffness,
weakness, pain and discomfort.
Cupping is the use of special cups which are
placed on the body to improve circulation to an area, joint, or
muscle where there is blocked or insufficient qi, blood or flexibility.
These sessions are intended to improve one's
energy flow, activating the body's natural healing abilities, relieving
physical ailments, and promoting physical and emotional well-being.
Susan's acupuncture
can be beneficial in the treatment of a wide variety of condidions
including--acute and chronic pain, anxiety, weight issues, stress
and burn-out, arthritis, osteoporosis, carpal tunnel, women's health
concerns, male and female infertility, back pain, emotional imbalance,

imbalances, migranes, tension headaches, joint pain, fibromyalgia,
sinusitis and more.
